The industrial control panel for general use and installation in an unclassified location with intrinsically safe circuit extensions into hazardous locations. (Class I, Class II or Class III, Division 1) In accordance with the NEC, NFPA 70. These are enclosed panels.

Along with the requirements of UL 508 A, additional requirements have to be met to conform to UL698 A.

Ambient temperature, oxygen concentration levels and barometric pressure all have specific limitations in this specification.

Specific wiring methods are covered under this specification. Intrinsically safe barriers (UL 913), terminal blocks and wiring all have specific requirements in reference  to non intrinsically safe wiring and components.

Each panel has a documentation package assuring all the requirements are met prior to placing the UL label on the panel.
